The Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice at Georgetown University presents their annual Spring Symposium and Literary Festival will take place at Georgetown University this Tuesday and Wednesday on the theme of  "America from the Outside: How the World Sees US."  The symposium and festival will explore and question the perception of the United States and its various cultures both within and without its borders by looking at poetry, photography, film, journalism, and literature that questions what “America” means as a concept, country, and culture.


The list of participants - which includes Naomi AyalaWafaa BilalHeidi EwingDinaw MengestuTrevor PaglenNaomi KleinAvi Lewis, and Abdourahman Waberi - looks really impressive!

Closing event with Chris Hedges " Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt"
Wednesday, April 3rd
7:00pm - 9:00pm, doors 6:30pm
Free and Open to the public, no tickets needed
Introduction and discussion led by Barbara Feinman Todd, Journalism director and Co-Director of the Pearl Project. A tribute to Medea Benjamin and Code Pink will open the evening. A reception and book signing will follow in Fisher Colloquium. Event will take place in Lohrfink Auditorium.
