Natalie Shudt, ''Depths,'' steel and silk |
Free
Thursday, April 10th - Monday, May 5th
From silk, steel, and wood, sculptor Natalie Shudt creates "Sway," a living environment of flowing botanical forms anchored to the floor and wall. A self-taught artist, Shudt learned to sew as a child. Her passion for fiber was rekindled during her travels through Southeast Asia, inspired by the silks in Thailand and embroidery of Vietnam. Shudt holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the DC area.
