Spring Open Spirit Circle - Sacred Fire and Drum Circle
at the Seekers Church in Takoma Park
Saturday, April 5th
8:00pm - 11:00pm
All ages, $10 at the door
If you are not able to make a donation please consider helping with set up, starting at 5:00pm
This event is being organized by some really sweet people, including my friends Beth and Rolande. It used to take place every month but now is not as frequent so if you're interested. I encourage you to come on out! From the invite: "Let's all gather again as the wheel of the seasons turns. Let's welcome spring together with drumming and dancing!"
About the event: Open Spirit Circles are a safe sacred space in which we express ourselves through drumming, dance, chant, trance, and song. The circles are held indoors around a fire pot, in a space that we collectively turn into sacred space. These circles were formed as a way to keep the magic of the summer outdoor fire circles alive and continuing through the winter months. Please feel free to bring your drums, rattles and shakers, Native American flutes and any sacred items you would like to place on any of the 5 altars around the circle. Dancing and hanging out is also welcome. If you'd like to come early to help decorate and set up, set up starts at 5:00pm. Please also remember to bring your own water bottle. There will be some extra drums for those who don't have a drum.
