Fast Food, Slow Food and Food Justice: Global Policies Creating Global Hunger
7:30pm
Food insecurity exists in every state in America. In 2011, 17.9 million households were food insecure and 50.1 million Americans struggle to put food on the table. In the United States, hunger isn't caused by a lack of food, but rather the continued prevalence of poverty. Join UMD professors Perla M. Guerrero, Luka Arsenjuk and Psyche Williams-Forson, along with USC's Orlando R. Serrano, Jr. as they discuss how food is at the heart of major policy flaws and societal disparities in the United States and around the world.
