The National Zoo

3001 Connecticut Ave, NW

Metro: Though most people get off at Woodley Park, I suggest getting off at Cleveland Park and walking downhill from there. The zoo is directly in between Woodley Park and Cleveland Park, but uphill from Woodley. You can also enter from the Harvard Street side near Adams Morgan. Take the 42 or 43 bus from Connecticut Ave downtown or from Dupont to Harvard St - it's about a 5 min walk or so downhill. You could also walk down Harvard from Columbia Heights Metro.
