Come learn the stories behind DC's murals! Washington artists explain the process and meaning behind public murals in NW and SE. Byron Peck’s Diamond Teague Memorial (2011) pays homage to a Youth Conservation Corps member who was murdered near the site; vibrant street art celebrates education (Explore and Learn, Albus Cavus Mural Collective, 2010), and graffiti plays to a green theme in Fuel for the Fire (Words Beats & Life, Inc., 2011). Caitlin Carroll previews her documentary film on the murals of DC.
NOTE: Stick around Anacostia for the opening reception from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Honfleur Gallery, down the street, featuring works by Albus Cavus' own Peter Krsko!
