Class for Parent and Child to work together
Family Scratch Club is an opportunity for kids and caregivers to create interactive digital content as a team. Scratch is programming language created at the MIT Media Lab that involves the snapping together of digital Lego-like bricks to create animations, games, and stories. In this inter-generational workshop, you'll learn more about Scratch, explain how it works, then turn it over to you and your kids to design.
The class is for children and their parents/caregivers. Kids between the ages of 8 and 14 tend to be most comfortable with Scratch, although children as young as 5 can grasp the concepts.
Each student must bring his/her own laptop. Parents, please register online and also send an email to contact@knowledgecommonsdc.org to let them know the number of children you’ll be bringing. No more than two kids per parent, please.
