East City Art - Weekend Round Up

Join local artists for This Place Has a Voice a free public art project. The day will be chalked full of photographs, videos, sculptures, installations, and performances from local artists. Highlight: At 5:30pm local artist Jon Lee presents the first in a series of memory feedings. This collaboration with Bruce McKaig will involve him feeding Jon a cake decorated with edible photos from his life. It will take place within the white cube at the southern end of Canal Park at M and 2nd SE. A meditation on interdependence and vulnerability, "FEED ME your memories" is an endurance-based micro-drama.

Harmony Hall hosts an artist talk with Alan Binstock on his current exhibition, Retro/Spective. The exhibition features his sculptures of stone, glass, and steel.

Transformer hosts a multimedia exhibit of artist Tamar Ettun’s works, which explores the connection between sculpture and performance. Influenced by turmoil in Israel, My Hands are the Shape of My Height, focuses on PTSD and features the use of human forms. For details on the exhibit, click here.
