New Columbia Heights monthly Open Mic Night - and perhaps spontaneous poetry writing workshop as it was last month - hosted by Shahid Buttar at Coffy Cafe, one of my favorite new coffee shops in DC to work from. They also have really good espresso, coffee, teas, and crepes. GPI is a great Open Mic with a great group of folks I have known for many years. Good stuff, recommend.
