The Center for Green Urbanism and Authentic Contemporary Art will host “Art, Wine and
Conversation” at the Tubman-Mahan Gallery. In case you missed it, this is your chance to see ReCREATE, a juried group show whose participants made work from recycled materials. The Center for Green Urbanism is located at 3938 Benning Rd, NE.
Saturday, November 6th
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Across the River, the Capitol Hill Art League presents an all media exhibit juried by the
Washington Post’s Gene Weingarten. The opening reception runs from 5pm to 7pm. Weingarten will speak at the reception. The CHAL gallery is located at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop 545 7th St, SE.
6:00pm - 9:00pm
Over on H Street NE, CITY Gallery opens Geoff Ault’s “Running with Scissors” Ault’s
digitally manipulated photographs seek to defy conventional wisdom by going against the grain
of traditional photography. CITY Gallery is located at 804 H St, NE on the second floor.
6:00pm - 8:00pm
A few blocks away, do not miss Industry Gallery’s opening of “din-din” by Jerry Mischak.
Mischak’s work evokes memories of grand dinners by wrapping commonly used tableware in plastic tape. Industry Gallery is located at 1358 Florida Ave, NE on the second floor.
Anacostia Fotoweek kicks-off this Saturday at 7pm at Blank Space SE and Big Chair Coffee
& Grill. See the works of Melani N. Douglass at Blank Space and a group show at Big Chair
