Nasar Abadey and SUPERNOVA and Johnny Rodgers Band Perform After Returning from Tours Through The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad, a Program Administered by Jazz at Lincoln Center in Partnership with the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs designed to foster cultural exchange with audiences worldwide.

Johnny Rogers Band is touring Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands (see their tour blog with posts, pics)in November 2010 on behalf of The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad. Formed in New York City in 2003, the band plays an array of styles ranging from pop to jazz to classic rock.

Nasar Abadey and Supernova
7:15pm

Nasar Abadey and Supernova (pictured above) a local DC based group formed in 1979, toured Eastern Africa in September 2010 on behalf of The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad. Their music explores jazz elements such as traditional African rhythms, bebop, fusion, Afro-Cuban, Afro Brazilian, and free form.
