The Humanities Council of Washington DC hosts the third and final free event in the The World House Series: The Philosophy of Green. This series was inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr's speech referencing the "World House" envisioning a "socially conscious democracy which reconciles the truths of individualism and collectivism."

You are invited to a festive reception and panel discussion with international leaders who will discuss their successes, challenges and future goals when it comes to ways on how we can reduce our ecological footprint. Learn more about how other countries, and other capital cities like our own, are tackling this issue and what impacts their actions may have on other nations.

The discussion will be m
oderated by David Rowland. Panelists include:

  • H.E. Mr. Akramul Qader, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the US
  • Günter Hörmandinger, First Counselor, Environment, Delegation of theEuropean Union
  • Edith Grace Ssempala, Head of the Civil Society Team, World Bank Groupand former Ambassador to the US from Uganda
