Conner Contemporary Art is now CONNERSMITH.  The gallery presents DC native Lisa Ruyter Let us now Praise Famous Men.  Ruyter’s acrylic paintings derive from 1930s and 1940s era photographs.  Her oeuvres lament the reduction of people who once lived to mere photographs.

Right next door to CONNERSMITH, G Fine Art will present the work of local artist Patrick McDonough.  In his multimedia exhibition, all I want is to be a happy man, McDonough connects his work to Mark Linkous (aka Sparklehorse) resulting in an exchange between the visual artist and the deceased musician.
