National Geographic Free festival and Free admission to the museum!
Celebrate 1,000 years of scientific, technological and cultural advances during the 1001 Inventions Family Festival at the National Geographic Museum! Participate in workshops and hands-on activities provided by local vendors and National Geographic staff. Enjoy an arts and crafts bazaar, dance and musical performances, cooking demonstrations, a spire building competition, perfume-making, henna art, textile and mosaic designing, local food trucks and much more! Also don't miss raffle prizes and giveaways throughout the day!
The festival and all activities are free. Admission to the Museum will be free the entire day, which includes two great exhibitions: 1001 Inventions: Discover the Golden Age of Muslim Civilization and a chance to see Titanic: 100 Year Obsession before it closes Sunday.
Additional Highlights: Two 30-minute Performances by the Nomad Dancers – Central Asian Dance and also from Saltanah – Music from Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Syria in the Grosvenor Auditorium. Adult and Children’s Dance Workshops by the Nomad Dancers in the Dining Hall throughout the day and two Family Percussion Workshops with
Saltanah in the Dining Hall, limit of 30 people, no reservations necessary. Storytelling and lots of other activities, including culinary demonstrations by Amy Riolo and hands-on activities in the Dining Hall from 10:00am - 4:00pm. For full descriptions please click here
