“The Commandant’s Own,” The United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps will perform the inaugural performance of the Friends of the National World War II Memorial 2012 Summer Concert Series tonight at the World War II Memorial! Under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer-2 James Foley, they invite the public to attend this free concert. Chairs will be provided.

The following selections will be performed:

"Uncommon Valor" Truman W. Crawford
"American Salute" Morton Gould
"Reveille" Brian Dix
"Rocky Top" Felice and Boudleaux Bryant
"I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo" Mack Gordon and Harry Warren
"Battle Hymn of the Republic" Julia Ward Howe
"The Stars & Stripes Forever" John Philip Sousa
"Armed Forces Salute" Stephen Bulla and Brian Dix

Sweet! Two concerts back to back.... following this performance, there will be a Free Concert with the United States Marine Band at the Sylvan Theater

Just a short distance from the WWII Memorial, at the Sylvan Stage, on the grounds of the Washington Monument,at 8:00pm there will be another free performance from the “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band . Director, Colonel Michael J. Colburn, conducting Free, no tickets required. In case of inclement weather, call the Concert Information Line at (202) 433-4011 to find out if a concert has been cancelled.

National World War II Memorial

On The National Mall across from the Washington Monument on 17th St, NW between Constitution Ave & Independence Ave
Metro: not that close to any metro, closest one is Farragut West, walk down 17th St, it's about a15- minute walk from the metro, perhaps a bit more in the heat. You can also walk from Foggy Bottom.
