WJFF Year-Round and the Embassy of Israel invite you to share a special evening at the DC JCC. Special Guests:
Dan Arbell, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Israel
David Makovsky, Ziegler Distinguished Fellow and Director of the Project on the Middle East Peace Process
On November 4, 1995, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated as he left a peace rally in support of the Oslo Accords. Join the Embassy of Israel and the Washington DCJCC as the community comes together to remember one of Israel’s most enduring leaders through film and shared memories.
Co-sponsored by
the Embassy of Israel
Shortly after the assassination, this powerful documentary was completed and broadcast, constructed entirely from footage of the television coverage that aired in the seven days following Rabin’s death. The filmmakers have recently finished creating an updated version that is still, like the original, a mosaic of images, thoughts and emotions--part a memorial and part a time capsule. Viewers are able to experience the events much as Israelis saw them, through the television screen.
