Weekend East City Event Round Up: H Street Brunch and Capitol Hill Dinner Edition




Start off your Saturday on H Street NE with a couple of artists talks by local galleries, have a disco nap and head over to Capitol Hill where three openings are set to take place featuring the very affordable work of numerous local artists.


Saturday, March 12th

Before heading out to brunch on H Street NE, attend G Fine Art’s unique gallery talk featuring both artist Linn Meyers whose work The Adjacent Possible is currently on display and collector Kate Nicholson. The talk will begin at 11am and light refreshments will be served. G Fine Art is located at 1350 Florida Ave, NE.


Later on that day on H Street NE, Adobe Design Center & Showroom, who participated in the recent ArtVentures on H, will be showing the work of Michele Foster Lucas from 3pm to 8pm with artist talks at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. The Adobe Design Center & Showroom is located at 654 H Street, NE on the northwest corner of Seventh and H Streets NE.


The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL), a program of The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW), will be hosting an All-Media Exhibition juried by independent curator and Gallery Plan B owner Paula Amt from 5pm to 7pm with a juror talk at 5:30pm. CHAW is located at 545 7th Street SE.


From 6pm to 8pm, The Corner Store opens Thom Goertel’s Suspension and Alignment, recent photographs. The Corner Store is a short four block walk from CHAW and is located at 900 South Carolina Avenue SE.


After the corner store show, grab some dinner on Barracks Row (8th Street SE) and head over to The Fridge for a group show featuring The Fridge 5 made up of the gallery’s most popular artists DECOY, DIABETIK, Juan Pineda, Scot LeFavor, and SCOTCH. The opening begins at 7pm and goes on to 10pm. The Fridge is located in the Rear Alley behind 516 8th Street SE (Belga Café).
