Curious about what it takes to buy a place in DC? Did you know that the DC government has special homebuyer assistance programs? These programs have a limited amount of funding available each year and programs are available on a first come first serve basis.

This seminar on Saturday will be a fast and fun way for you to learn about programs that make it even easier to buy in DC. Guest speakers will include representatives from the D.C. Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) & the D.C. Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP).

There will be a question & answer session directly with agents, lenders & DCHFA officials following the presentation. Mortgage lenders will also be available in person to discuss qualifications as well as special No Money Down/100% Financing.

If you are thinking of buying a place in downtown DC this year or next, you'll want to attend this workshop - especially now while interest rates are still rather low and there are attractive subsidized financing packages available.

You'll also have a chance to chat with folks from UrbanLand Company. After the event, those interested can tour current available projects from UrbanLand and attend hard hat tours of projects currently being prepared to list on the market.

Topics include:

  • The DC Bond Program, with fixed rate, 30 year mortgages at 4.5% as well as up to $10,000 in downpayment or closing costs assistance (when available).

  • The Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP), with 0% interest the first 5 years, up to $40,000 in downpayment assistance & an extra $4,000 in closing costs help.

  • Special D.C. government employee programs (EAHP) with up to $1,500 in downpayment grants & up to $10,000 in deferred downpayment loans.

  • Other mortgage programs & financing issues relevant to first time homebuyers.

  • Examples of current D.C. condo projects that are within reach financially for first time buyers.

  • Find out more about D.C. condos ready in the near future, not currently on the market.
