ReDiscovery reading at Shakespeare Theatre's Lansburgh Theatre

Monday, September 26th

7:30pm

Free!

The ReDiscovery Series investigates rarely produced classics. This reading will be of
Tirso de Molina's Marta the Divine which has been described as a
"A Saint’s Play wrapped inside a Lover’s Comedy."

This ReDiscovery reading is a Spanish Golden Age classic that tells the story of Marta, a spirited young woman, wants to be with a man she loves, so she takes matters into her own hands -- by pleading a religious conversion.
"One of the funniest, sexiest and most slyly irreverent of Spanish Golden Age comedias, in its first English translation." Translated and adapted by Harley Erdman.
