Open House - Re-Opening Celebration!
Saturday, September 24th
11:00am - 4:00pm
Free

View a schedule of events - including Chair Yoga from 1:00pm - 1:30pm with Corrin Bennett on the new Rooftop Terrace - at today's Open House!

The Smith Center - formerly known as Smith Farm Center - is located near 16th & U St, NW and at 1632 U St. I'm a big fan of their organization, which provides programs that support and encourage health and healing through the arts, as well as other holistic programs. In addition to the wonderful Joan Hisaoka Art Gallery - where they host all kinds of exhibitions and events - Smith Center is the only organization in DC that exists in order to offer affordable, accessible integrative care programs and resources for local cancer patients and their families, as well as health and wellness programs for the general community.

At today's Open House you'll have a chance to:
  • Tour the Smith Center’s newly remodeled and expanded space - which now features a tranquil rooftop terrace, state-of-the-art teaching kitchen and over 2000 square feet of program space; and more!
  • Meet Smith Center’s Executive Director, Shanti Norris and Smith Center staff members
  • Sample free workshops and classes - including healthy cooking and nutrition demonstrations (with food samples!), therapeutic and stress reduction yoga classes - and more!
1632 U St, NW
Metro: U St or take the S2 or S4 bus along 16th St to U St
