“In Her Words” is a musical theatrical production that pays tribute to legendary creatives Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Nina Simone, Zora Neale Hurston and Lucille Clifton. Providing an entertaining and often sobering look at the social conditions present during the lifetimes of each woman, the production includes original monologues from these women, culled from their interviews, songs, and writings. The production is written and directed by playwright Khadijah Ali-Coleman and features Nia Simmons, Quineice and Colie Williams as Lucille Clifton.
