"Dominican Republic (Other Places Travel Guide), co-written by Katherine Tuider of Capitol Hill and Evan Caplan of Shaw, was published in January of 2012. To celebrate its anniversary, the authors are hosting a happy hour event. They will be discussing the book’s origin, sharing stories about their experiences, and signing copies.
Acclaimed for its unique, insider perspective, the book details the unheralded areas of the country, highlighting community-based and sustainable tourism projects with insight and wit. Having spent a combined five years in the country as Peace Corps Volunteers, the authors bring a wealth of knowledge to independent traveling, imbuing the pages with vibrant and passionate language."
