WSC Avant Bard presents a staged reading of "Orlando" by Sarah Ruhl, adapted from the novel by Virginia Woolf as the first reading in "The First Annual Free Gaurav Gopalan Reading Series."
Directed by Amber Jackson, featuring Acting Company members Sara Barker and Kim Curtis, with Andrew Ferlo, Dylan Myers, and Victoria Reinsel. "One of America’s hottest playwrights adapts for the stage the work of one of history’s most inventive writers. Sarah Ruhl’s new adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s most imaginative novel, Orlando, is a wild and wonderful romp through centuries and across genders. Based in part on the life of Woolf’s lover Vita Sackville-West, the novel has been described as “the most charming love-letter in literature.” The reading will take place in Artisphere’s Town Hall/Lobby and the bar will be open."
