Literature Evening: Thomas Mallon on Watergate: A Novel

Author Thomas Mallon will discuss and autograph copies of his acclaimed bestseller, Watergate: A Novel., a dramatized account of the infamous political scandal that rocked the Nixon White House which landed a coveted spot as one of The Washington Post's "50 Best Works of Fiction for 2012" and the "100 Notable Books of 2012" of the New York Times. His book will be available for purchase at a reception following the reading.

Evening - German Literary Event - Van Ness

An evening dedicated to emerging authors in contemporary German literature. Excerpts will be read in both German and English. The writers will introduce and discuss their work in English.  Moderated by Norbert Bärlocher, Cultural Attaché, Embassy of Switzerland. The event will conclude with a reception with Austrian, German and Swiss delicacies.

American Roots - Piano Concert

American pianist Benjamin Pasternack presents piano music inspired by African Americans and Native Americans, including two rarities by Arthur Farwell, who as leader of the "Indianists" movement deserves to be known as the American Bartok. The program includes works by Dvorák, Busoni, Farwell and Bernstein/Pasternack.
