On Monday, November 19, 2012, PAUL will open its fourth bakery café in DC, in Foggy Bottom, just steps from the IMF, World Bank, and George Washington University at The Shops at 2000 Penn. To celebrate, they will be giving away one free Tartelette Citrouille (Pumpkin Tartlet) to the first 2,000 people who come by, and make a purchase,at their new location at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, starting at 7:00am. Paul hours will be: Mon-Fri: 7am-8pm; Sat-Sun: 8am-6pm
Established in Lille, France in 1889, PAUL Bakery is world-renown with nearly 500 stores in 25 countries, and in such prime locations as Barcelona, Brussels, Cairo, Dubai, Istanbul, London, Moscow, Paris, Singapore, and Tokyo. PAUL opened its US Flagship bakery-café in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of DC on May 2, 2011. A second bakery opened in Georgetown on November 21, 2011, and their third bakery opened in the Golden Triangle at 1000 Connecticut Ave NW on June 4, 2012. PAUL will open its 5th bakery in the DC area, and the first in the state of VA, in December 2012 on the ground floor of Tysons Galleria.
Their newest DC location is 3300 sq.ft. - the largest and most opulent PAUL in DC so far. The PAUL 2000 Penn bakery café will seat 74 people in 4 different “rooms” that feature traditional dining tables, high-top tables, bar seating, and plush chairs and banquettes made with beautiful French fabrics in the window-front lounge area. Outfitted with warm wood, classic French tile, antique fixtures and elegant tufted furniture, the design at PAUL Bakery inspires French comfort in a warm and welcoming ambiance with authentic décor that enables guests to feel transported to a traditional boulangerie café in France. Come spring, they plan to set up an outdoor terrace on 20th St.
