Rhymes with Opera - featuring Elisabeth Halliday and Bonnie Lander, sopranos; Robert Maril, baritone; George Lam, conductor and violin; Ruby Fulton, accordion and laptop - will perform a free show at Honfleur Gallery this Saturday! This concert, funded by the NEA, will include music by Ruby Fulton, Douglas Buchanan and Thomas Limbert. Words by Baynard Woods.
Enjoy a presentation of Ketamyth, directed by Britt Olsen-Ecker. What is Ketamyth? "A tripped out tale of ketamine and the near-death experience; a musical setting of Goblin Market, the Christina Rossetti poem about two sisters seduced by goblins; Numbers/Dates (sadness, despair, disgust, contempt), an exploration of emotions and the voice."
Hmm... sounds obscure enough to be interesting... and with it being free and all, you have nothing to lose!

Metro: Best reached by bus - from Adams Morgan, U street, H Street, Eastern Market – take the 90 or 92 to Anacostia. Get off the bus at the first stop after the 11st bridge. You can also take the new Circulator bus route there from Eastern Market, or from the Anacostia metro if you prefer not to walk from the metro.
If you take the Green Line to Anacostia, exit the metro to the right and take a left on MLK Jr Ave, SE. Walk about ten minutes til you pass the Big Chair, turn right on Good Hope Rd, Honfleur is close to 13th St.
