This Mark Group event should be a good chance to meet some interesting people and to try out some intimacy building games. It's being organized by my friend Mary, who was recently returned to the DC area after some time living in Hawaii. She has invited her friends Bill and Patty to come down from their place in the suburbs of Philly to lead a Mark group, which comes out of the Morehouse tradition.
The Morehouse website describes a Mark group as such:
"A Mark Group offers a fun way to meet new people and get closer to people you already know. You can be the center of attention, hang back, or do anything in-between. Playing the three structured games often affords an experience of surprising intimacy, insight, and laughter." Mary says that "it is basically three communication games that lead us to get to know one another better while having a lot of fun. There is often a lot of laughter and in some groups, some pretty racy conversation and flirty energy."
The event is "snack-luck" so please feel free to bring along some trail mix, cheese and crackers, salsa and chips, etc... There will be a break in the middle.
If you have any questions or would like to see if someone can pick you up from the Ballston Metro, which is just a few minutes away by car, please call 443-668-4334. You can also call for the exact address or RSVP on facebook and drop Mary a note asking for directions.
