"The Chocolate City Freedom Ride, hosted by the Environmental Justice Climate Change Initiative is an opportunity to learn about some of the various Environmental Justice issues facing the Nation's Capitol. The tour will cover a variety of areas in DC, highlighting the rich history of the city and the work of various community and non-profit organizations to restore the environment while maintaining and sustaining a community of culture."
"All guests will have the option of riding the metro or biking the tour, so please come prepared with water and healthy snacks of your choice! We will begin at the Eastern Market Station, ride over to River Terrace, up to the Shaw/U Street area, and then down to Anacostia."
Note: This is "a kind of long ride which might be strenuous on the young and elderly" - however you can take your bike on buses and also on the metro on the weekend (well, all of time except for rush hour M-F on the metro) so that gives you some flexibility as well.
Throughout the city - meet at
701 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE
Metro: Eastern Market
