‘Our Spoken Word’ is an open mic fundraising event hosted by Our Place DC that will showcase the creative abilities of currently and formerly incarcerated women. This event is being held to raise community awareness with regards to the challenges faced by women impacted by the criminal justice system and to raise funds for Our Place DC. Enjoy some poetry and help "change the conversation about incarceration while challenging social stigmas attached to the returning citizen."
