The Church of the Holy City is pleased and honored to host the First Concert Appearance of the DC Chamber Music Players Orchestra under the experienced baton of conductor and director Robert Goeke. Founded in 2007 by Robert Myers, the DC Chamber Music Players promotes a collegial, non-competitive environment for its dedicated group of musicians who delight in coming together to play their various instruments for their own enjoyment and collective fun. Their First Public Performance is made all the more interesting by the collaboration of two pianists - Tanya Lee and Mila Naumova-Roushakes.
Tanya Lee is an acclaimed artist, debuting at the age of eleven with the Kilgore College Symphony. She is a former Young Artist. Ms. Lee most recently studied under Xak Bjerken and Malcolm Bilson at Cornell University, where she performed in master classes given by Gil Kalish. A recent resident of DC, Tanya Lee is delighting audiences at salon concerts in our area.
Mila Naumova-Roushakes was raised in a family of generations of renowned musicians in Sofia, Bulgaria and attended the specialized Music school “Liubomir Pipkov” in Sofia from the age of five, with concentration on piano. She earned a Master’s degree in Pedagogy and Performance at George Mason University, studying with Professor Anna Balakerskaia. She lives in the area performs as as soloist and in the company of other chamber musicians in DC area and teaches piano privately. Earlier this year, she joined the faculty of the music department of NoVA Community College, Annandale campus.
