Fresh off an incredible run at the National Poetry Slam (top 15!), The Beltway Poetry Slam, kicks off their third season! Come out and compete/ support the poets competing for a spot to represent DC at the Individual World Poetry Slam (IWPS) in Fayettville, AR. The top 4 poets left at the end of the night will battle it out on September 4th for the spot as the official Beltway representative for IWPS 2012.
About the feature: "Alyesha Wise, aka "Ms. Wise" is a National Poet, Teaching Artist, & Speaker and is the founder of the organization, Love, Us - created to spread Universal & Self-love through the arts. Alyesha was the 5th ranked female poet in the world in 2010, has been featured in media such as 105.3 - Philly, The Star & BucWild Show, Philadelphia Gay News, and has opened for artists such as The Flobots."
