Swing by McPherson Sq today to hang out with some local DC Burners and learn more about the Burning Man culture and some of the projects locals are working on. The DC C.O.R.E Burning Man Project is putting on a "flash party" to raise awareness of the DC burning man community and the local, underground art community. They are also running a kickstarter that ends in a few days, trying to raise funds for their art project that they want to make - a replica of the National Monument, with a twist - to take to Burning Man and to represent DC. You can learn more about that project and make a donation if you like, here. This is a leave no trace event that will abide by the 10 principles of Burning Man.

FIGMENT DC!
A family friendly, daytime art festival coming to The Yards Park, organized by some fabulous local Burners. Note also: The deadline for Project Proposal Submissions, for those wishing to participate in FIGMENT, is Wednesday, August 15th.
