This Weekend! Global Glimpses Film Series features 5 Oscar-nominated films for the 85th Academy Awards® for Best Foreign Language Film at National Geographic
Friday, February 15th - Sunday, February 17th
$9 per film

This weekend you'll have the opportunity to view in one weekend the five Oscar-nominated films for the 85th Academy Awards® for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and National Geographic Live will present the films one week before the Academy Awards ceremony. A reception will take place one hour before the screening or directly after each screening. Some films may contain graphic images and language. Remaining screenings listed below.

Sunday, February 17th

Global Glimpses: War Witch
4:30pm
In a war-torn central African nation, a twelve-year-old girl is abducted from her village and forced to fight as a child soldier. Over the course of two years, Komona endures a brutal and horrific existence that will damage her irrevocably.

Rene Saavedra is a Chilean advertising executive who is recruited by the opponents of the Pinochet regime to create an ad persuading people to vote against a referendum supporting the dictator. While many on the left fear that the government will rig the voting, Saavedra hopes that his marketing skills can sell the Chilean people on the possibility of a better world.
