Opening Reception for Deb Willis: Framing Beauty. Named among the 100 Most Important People in Photography by American Photo Magazine, Deb Willis is a prolific photographer, historian, and curator. She is chiefly concerned with historical and contemporary representations of African American life and culture. Framing Beauty is a visual exploration of the ways in which contemporary Black America constructs and represents its identity and image.

Come out for the opening night party for the Our City Film Festival, a festival with only DC-based documentaries. There will be a live jazz band, The Bumper Jacksons, a cash bar, and all-around celebration! There are also several free film screenings and activities the next day, Sunday, March 9th. Complementary jazz and mimosas starting at 11:30am, the creation of a mural at 4:00pm, live performances and food at 7:00pm, and complimentary dessert and coffee at 9:00pm.
