Industrial hemp has been grown throughout history for a variety of uses. However, there was a sharp decline in the early 20th century following drug hysteria that linked industrial hemp to its cousin, marijuana. Learn about hemp’s storied past and its many uses in the run-up to Hemp History Week (June 3-9). We’ll discuss the crop’s environmental and economic benefits, as well as its current legal status.
About the presenter: Ben Droz, a photographer and qualified hemp expert, is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of hemp politics and science. He has worked as a lobbyist for industrial hemp farming for more than four years, including for the organization Vote Hemp.
