PAST: ART: "Beautiful People" features recent paintings by local artist Matt Sesow and new work by Gallery Artists at Waverly Street Gallery in Bethesda, MD from TUES, June 11th - SAT, July 6th, Free
Matt Sesow's "self-taught" style of painting has been described as Art Brut, Outsider, Folk Art, and Abstract Expressionist. His use of bold colors, sharp lines and aggressive techniques make his a signature style.
"Beautiful People" will introduce the viewer to Sesow's perspective of famous and some not-so-famous people that have influenced his work and vision throughout his career. Primarily a series of portraits of varying sizes and mediums, Beautiful People offers surprises, humor, and challenges the viewer to re-examine some of their preconceived notions of "beauty."
