The Dunes presents "Murmur" Photographs by Jocelyn Weiss

The Dunes, in Columbia Heights, features the photography of Jocelyn Weiss. The show will be open for viewing during scheduled events taking place at The Dunes and for private viewings upon request.
“Murmur” documents some of the people that the artist met while participating as part of a 2010 medical team volunteering in Nepal, providing basic health exams to women and children in the remote village of Sabhug. The title is meant to raise awareness about the alarming incidence of heart disease in Nepal. Read more about the show.
About the artist: Jocelyn Weiss is a photographer/epidemiologist currently based in New York City. Educated at Tufts University in Boston and University of Washington in Seattle, she’s been pursuing her lifelong passions of making an impact through public health and inspiring others with her photography. In the area of science, she’s conducted research on cancer and heart disease. In her art, she’s created images that document music, fashion, her travels and events of all kinds. Jocelyn’s work was honored by the World Photography Gala Awards in the 2011 Best Shot Competition.
