Friday, May 4th
8:00pm - 10:00pm
Sign-up starts at 7:50pm
All ages, Free, donations appreciated, suggested $10

This special Open Mic Night at The DC Center will focus on the theme of  Performance Art! The evening will be hosted by two of my fabulous friends - Regie Cabico and Laura Steiner - and the feature for the eve will be Miasia. The eve is an open mic and all are welcome to share their work, talent, and skill - or whatever silly human trick you might be able to perform. Not up for getting on the stage, come out and enjoy the show! Prepare for an evening of amazement, and with Regie on stage, amusement as well!

What exactly is "Performance Art" you may be wondering? Think entertainment! Skill toying like Poi, glowstick/LED spinning, devil stix, cigar box, buugeng + contortion + acrobatics + juggling + dance, including burlesque + hula hooping + comedy + magic + aerial arts + puppetry... just to give you some ideas.... The stage will be open to other forms of art, whether you want to share a crazy story, read an outlandish poem or try out your latest drag routine, you're welcome to come on up! After the show, there will also be a mini social, where you can meet new friends, network, and learn more about The DC Center, which supports the LGBTQ community.

Miasia is a DC area performer and teacher, whose signature sensual and sassy style has been enjoyed by audiences all over the US, as well as Canada, Turkey and Egypt. She also teaches classes at Joy of Motion and Studio Artemis.
