Elementary, middle, and high school students in the DC area were invited to enter The World & Me Student Poetry Contest on the environmental theme focusing on the earth and our energy choices.  This contest, being sponsored by Split this Rock and Live Green, asks students to consider the drastic climate change and submit 1-3 poems. There were two categories: those students 12 and under and those 13-18 years old.  Come on out and celebrate as the top 3 winners in each category are unveiled, and hear them read their winning poem/poems. Each winner will be awarded gift certificates, and books of poetry. The event will also include an open mic, with a focus on the environment.
