Self-taught, multidisciplinary visual artist Benjamin K. Nguyen celebrates his first show in the DC area with a reception for "birdsdecay" this Friday night at The Gallery at Vivid Solutions. The works on display, which were all printed at Vivid Solutions DC Print Lab, are part of an ongoing project that the Northern Virginia based-artist is working on "that emphasize geometrics in organic form" helping Nguyen "to explore the inherent mathematical qualities in his chosen subjects. Whether through visual design, photography, or cinematography, Nguyen is obsessed with advancing ever-expanding visual theories."
After you check out this show, you can head up the street to Vivid's sister gallery, Honfleur Gallery, located just a few blocks away at 1241 Good Hope Rd, SE, to check out the show "Le Temps Devant (Our Time Ahead): Anachronism and Utopia in the French Countryside" featuring photographs by Frédéric Nauczyciel and was curated by Amy Cavanaugh Royce, executive director at the Maryland Art Place.
