PAST: ART: "Paintings by Sheep Jones" at Gallery plan b FRI, Sept 7th - SUN, Oct 14th. Free

Paintings by Sheep Jones at  Gallery plan b
Free
On view Friday, September 7th - Sunday, October 14th

"The intriguing visual vocabulary of Sheep Jones' painting includes sheds, vegetables, roots, fish, bats, birds, bees, bugs, and little girls. Her paintings start to tell a story, but continue in a whimsical and fantastical stream of consciousness involving charming iconic images –– casual, but precise in their detail."

This will be Sheep's third solo show at Gallery plan b. A resident of Fairfax, VA, Jones grew up in rural Maine and earned a degree in fine art from the University of Maine. In 2000, she became a resident artist of the prestigious Torpedo Factory Arts Center in Old Town, and in 2003 was awarded artist of the year at the Factory. Jones spends half her time in VA and the other half in Maine.
