New! Introducing the "Write Before Beltway Workshop!"
"An hour before slam sign-up the DMV's very own Twain Dooley will facilitate a workshop for only $5. This workshop doubles as a Beltway fundraiser and as a new opportunity for poets to gather, network, write, share, and/or relax in camaraderie before the slam begins! This is also a great way to ensure that you get there early enough to secure a spot on the list."

About the feature, Rudy Francisco: "Rudy is the 2009 National Underground Poetry Slam Champion, the 2010 San Diego Grand Slam Champion, the 2010 Individual World Poetry Slam Champion and is starring in season 2 of TV One's "Verses and Flow" Rudy was born and raised in San Diego, California. At the age of 21, Rudy completed his B.A in Psychology and decided to continue his education by pursuing a MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. As an artist, Rudy Francisco combines activism and poetry to enlighten the minds of those who witness his performance. Ultimately, Rudy's goal is to assist and inspire others to harness their creativity while cultivating his own."
