Film Screening in the Bijou Theatre
Artist Alexa Meade - who used to live in DC - (check out her 7 minute TED Talk about her story and her process!) and Sheila Vand have collaborated on a body of work that explores the fluidity of form in relation to time and space. This short film explores each of their processes for capturing a moment, resulting in a series of images that are shown throughout this behind-the-scenes video. Together, the artists compose an expressive identity for each image, but as the milk interacts with the pre-arranged pose, a new identity is formed that must be constantly re-imagined and re-shaped in the moment.

Andy Warhol: Silver Clouds
Exhibit in the Terrace Gallery
For the first time in the DC region, 150 of Andy Warhol's Silver Clouds will land at Artisphere. This uplifting installation defies traditional perceived constrictions of art as the clouds interact with you and each other. On loan from The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.

on the Town Hall Video Wall
Spanish artist Sergio Albiac uses computer code as one of his artistic mediums. This technique uses regions of video content to effectively represent heterogeneous regions of the image. Both the partial content of the videos and the whole image are fully visible at the same time, widening the possibilities to deliver meaning in a contemporary aesthetic language. Commissioned by Artisphere in response to Andy Warhol's signature portraiture, one of the works, Michelle, is based on First Lady Michelle Obama.

Soundscape project in response to the exhibition Andy Warhol: Silver Clouds

Created in collaboration with Leo Almunia (Florence, IT), Dirty Beaches (Berlin, DE) and Praveen Sharma (Brooklyn, NY)  (Audio, approx. 28 minutes)  Jakub Alexander (aka Heathered Pearls) has created an original soundscape that will debut exclusively at Artisphere, playing through the speakers in the Gallery once a week during the run of the exhibition.
