Artisphere hosts a screening of "Basquiat"
in conjunction with Andy Warhol: Silver Clouds, on view in the Terrace Gallery
Sunday, October  20th
2:00pm
by donation, Pay-What-You-Want at the door

"Basquiat" tells the story of the meteoric rise of youthful artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (Jeffrey Wright), who started out as a street artist, living in Thompkins Sq Park in a cardboard box. Jean-Michel is "discovered" by Andy Warhol's (David Bowie) art world and becomes a star. But success has a high price, and Basquiat pays with friendship, love, and eventually, his life.

This Sunday is also the final day to catch the exhibit on view! "For the first time in the DC region, 150 of Andy Warhol's Silver Clouds will land at Artisphere. This uplifting installation defies traditional perceived constrictions of art as the clouds interact with you and each other. On loan from The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA."
